How We Work
In 7 steps we deliver you high quality content that people & planet love.
1 Your enquiry
For copywriting and content services, please get in touch via our Contact form or email us at ask@theworddepot.com.au directly.
For Fractional Marketing Director and Purpose Consulting services, please get in touch here.
Either way, please provide a website link and brief description of your business, along with an overview of your project objectives and timeframes. From there, we can get back to you with an estimate of time and price.
2. DISCOVERY CALL
Assuming project scope, prices, budget (and values) align, we can either jump on a call or zoom to discuss your requirements - and where you are on your sustainability journey. Then we know if we’re a good fit to work together.
After this process, you will be sent a quote. Once approved, you will be sent an invoice for 50% of the total cost of the project (note: this includes two sets of changes from the draft submission). Once received, we move to step 3.
3. BRIEF
This step is critical. The difference between an average copywriter and a professional copywriter is in the briefing process. Nail the strategic brief upfront and you’ll have reduced costs, more time, receive high quality work and enjoy the whole process.
With sustainable copywriting we do dig a little deeper - it’s good though, it adds value. Our clients enjoy the process.
To progress, we will send you a strategic briefing form to complete. Some clients prefer to meet again to step through this, others prefer to fill it out independently. The choice is yours. A tone of voice or brand document would be great here too.
4. Debrief
Once that’s completed, you’ll receive an efficient debrief document for your approval before any further work commences.
5. Creative Development
We’ll then proceed with the creative development process. This is the intersection where your brand, data, research, values and objectives meet. For digital copy services, we can conduct keyword research for you - or use yours. It’s up to you.
We may have further questions for you during this process.
6. FIRST DRAFT / second draft
While we love meeting the brief the first time, we understand that changes will often need to be made.
We will send your first draft in a Word document, and ask you to track your changes.
If we need a second round, we will make the final edits and send through to you for your approval.
7. Final draft and sign off
It’s a wrap! You can now go ahead and publish your quality piece of copy.
